La Garimuca es una preciosa finca de 10.000 m2 situada en uno de los parajes naturales mas hermosos y desconocidos de Cantabria. A 13 km del Balneario de Liérganes domina el valle del río Miera (en el barrio de Ajanedo) y disfruta de unas vistas incomparables. En este marco están situadas dos cabañas montañesas que han sido sometidas a una restauración integral cuidando en todo momento el estilo montañés y la estética del valle. Sus muros son de piedra de garma de un metro de espesor y la estructura interior es de maderas nobles: roble y castaño.
Cada casa tiene dos plantas. La planta baja (antigua cuadra) es diáfana y en ella está el salón comedor con chimenea y la cocina; y en la segunda planta hay 3 habitaciones con cama de matrimonio, y baño completo. Cada casa tiene su propio comedor exterior con barbacoa. Subiendo por unas escaleras enlosadas en piedra amarilla llegamos a un prado en el que hay un mirador debajo de un gran fresno. Ideal para echar la siesta en verano y disfrutar de la naturaleza.
La casa está completamente equipada con menaje de cocina, olla a presión, micro-ondas, vitrocerámica, batidora...; lencería de hogar: sábanas, toallas, mantelerías... y otros pequeños electrodomésticos como plancha y secador. Dispone así mismo de televisión, equipo de música, juegos de mesa y libros.
La Garimuca is a nice property of 10,000 m2 located in one of the most beautiful natural landscapes of Cantabria. It is 13 km far from the SPA of Liérganes and masters the valley of the river Miera (in the quarter of Ajanedo) enjoying matchless panoramic views. In this place are located two traditional houses carefully restored keeping the style from these mountains. The one meter thick walls are in stone and the interior structure is in noble woods: oak and chestnut-tree.
Each house has two floors. The ground floor is transparent and contains the dining/living-room with fireplace and the kitchen; and in the upper floor there are 3 rooms with double bed, and full equipped bathroom. Each house has its own exterior dining space with barbecue. Beside the house we find a meadow with a watchtower under a great ash-tree. An ideal to rest in the summer and to enjoy the nature.
The house is fully equipped with kitchen furniture, micro-waves, electrical cooking,...; linen: sheets, towels, tablecloths... and other small white goods as dryer. It has also television, music equipment, books and board games.

ACTIVITIES
La Garimuca is located in the Valley of the river Miera, 13 Km away from Liérganes in a wonderful natural environment at the bottom of the rock of Bordillas, with panoramic views to the valley. A suitable place to enjoy in contact with the nature.
1. TREKKING.
There are different routes starting from La Garimuca: Rock of Bordillas, Bustablado, Wells of Noja. We provide our guests with information about many interesting tours: From small ones, suitable for all the family, until high mountain routes as Castro Valnera or the heights of Porracolina.
2. BICYCLES.
From La Garimuca you could do several excursions in bicycle, enjoying the spectacular landscapes of the environment: Merilla (7 Km in total); San Roque of Riomiera (6.5 Km); Liérganes (26 Km). Other interesting excursions are Miera, field of San Roque or, for the bravest, climbing El Portillo until the resort of La Lunada.
3. FOWL OBSERVATION.
The property limits to the east with the grandiose rock of Bordillas, that, with a hundred of vulturs, is the biggest colony of these birds existing between the Pyreneess and the Europe Peaks. In addition it is possible the observation of another birds as hawks, eagles, owls...
4. CAVES.
From La Garimuca is easy to visit the caves of El Salitre, El Salitre II, La Puntida, Piélago and Rascaño. El Salitre is just beside the house, and has paintings of deers, horses, cows and goats contemporary that those of Altamira. Because of its extraordinary value this cave is closed to the public, but in the cave of Rascaño in Miera it has been reproduced this cave (El Salitre II). Especially we recommend the visit to the cave of La Puntida, with wide galleries. El Piélago, located 2 km before Mirones, is formed by two caves, the most visited has high entry and carries to a naturally lightned gallery. The other offered very rich remains.
5. THE FLOWER.
Green valleys.... centennial beech trees, walnut-trees, ash-trees, lindens, chestnut-trees, plum-trees, hazels, laurels... Depending on the season you could collect hazelnuts, nuts, mushrooms, chestnut... (October, November)...
6. OTHER ACTIVITIES.

7. WINTER SPORTS.
20 Km away from La Garimuca is found the winter ski resort of La Lunada, ideal for lovers of snow sports.

1. AREA OF THE RIVER MIERA.
La Garimuca is located in the municipality of Miera, a natural paradise. In La Cárcoba, capital of the municipality, is remarkable its original parish of Santa María, baroque to the exterior (18th century), though the construction has started in the 16th century.
2. LIÉRGANES.
13 Km away from La Garimuca the village of Liérganes possesses a magnificent Historical and Monumental patrimony as well as two of the most outstanding palaces of Cantabria, the Palace of Elsedo and that of La Rañada. The old centre of Liérganes has been declared Artistic Historical Set and is popularly called "the small Santillana".
3. CABÁRCENO.
Only 20 minutes away from La Garimuca is the Park of the Nature of Cabárceno. Ancient mine from the time of the Romans masterly transformed in a zoo without bars for the animals to live in half-freedom.
4. BEACHES.
In only 20 minutes there are several beaches as Noja, Loredo, Santander...
5. SANTANDER.
Approximately 20 minutes away from La Garimuca is the elegant city of Santander withe the Palace of La Magdalena, the beach of El Sardinero, the gardens of Piquio, the promenade of Pereda, the bay...
ACCESS
In Liérganes to take the highway to San Roque de Riomiera. In the km 13.5 there is a road to the left that arrives to the house.
