DESCRIPTION

Cal Valls was built towards the end of the 17th century in Vilagrassa, a beautiful hamlet with 350 inhabitants, near Tarrega. Back in 2006, the Valls family made it suitable for rural tourism purposes. The property is a member of the Catalan government run `Independent Rural Accommodation scheme` (Allotjament Rural Independent-ARI).
The conversion was carried out in such a way that the
property is now both practical and comfortable. All the original period features were delicately preserved, keeping traditional style and materials, such as stone walls, wooden beams and open fires. Moreover, it has double isolation in walls, ceilings and windows; white goods class A, cistern for the rain water and hot water through sun energy.
Cal Valls can accommodate 14 guests in five rooms, all of them overlooking to Santa Maria Church 13th century. There
is a bathroom on the lower floor, and two on the upper floor.
The property is ideal for those families or groups of friends who would like to switch off from hectic urban life
and live in complete harmony with nature whilst still enjoying every comfort of modern life.

Characteristics inside

The liveable floor area is around 300 m2, where you can find an American style kitchen, with refrigerator, freezer, electric cooker, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, kitchen utensils, espresso coffee maker, toaster, juicer, food processor, meat grill, micro-wave oven, extractor hood, vacuum cleaner and iron.
Next the kitchen there is a large dinning room overlooking to the garden. You can enjoy the main guest facilities as PC
connected on internet by wifi system, and linked with a 32`` TV to showing Power Point presentation or other software; home cinema, whole the house is covered by the hi-fi system; video games, board games, T.V. in one room and central heating.

Characteristics outside

The outside area is about 150 m 2 with a garden with lawn and a terrace. On the terrace, there is a private swimming pool, which had a stepladder for child security. The large barbecue with a free wood, table tennis and ping-pong bats, five bicycles, skateboards, hammock, darts and a petanque set.

Activities from Cal Valls
Fields and crops dominate the landscape to the pre-Pyrenees, which provides excellent conditions for a variety of sports and outdoor activities, such as hiking, horseback riding,
mountain biking, angling, canoeing and river crafting.
Furthermore, the central location in Catalonia makes every corner accessible in one-day excursions. From the Dalí-museum in the north, the Costa Brava coastline and
Barcelona in the west and further south Tarragon with its amphitheatre and Port-Adventure Universal Studios amusement
park for the kids. A generous and cosy region, with true cultural, gastronomically, artistic, historical, traditional and legendary treasures. Also a region for the playful who loves sport activities.
In the winter, the ski-resorts in Andorra and the Pyrenees is only a 60 minutes drive away. In the summer, you can
enjoy the tracks of the Pyrenees or for the adventures paragliding or climbing. The spring (march-may) in Catalonia is sunny, green and comfortable warm. The daily temp. reaches 16-22 degrees. The autumn (Sep.-Nov) is very warm in the beginning (Sep.) with a daily average temp. reaching 27 degrees. October and November has an average temp. starting at 22 in October ending with 17 in November.

The main towns in the region:

Tarrega, 3 km from Vilagrassa. A cosy little town, where you
will find all kind of stores. We provide a map of shops, restaurants etc.
LLeida at 40 km. Quite a large town on West Catalonia, where
you‚ll find big supermarkets, really nice restaurants, shopping areas, and bars. It is also a very pretty town with many really good sites.
Barcelona at 100 km. The largest town in Catalonia. By experiencing the history of Barcelona, you will also experience the history of Catalonians they both coincided in
their moments of greatest splendour. Barcelona a town that has been shaped by its most intense historic moments as Catalonia and nowadays the most modern, lively and fashioner city in Spain.
Vic is at 110 km.
A beautiful maintained historical town also mentioned as the most Catalan town in Catalonia. Traditional Market on the Main Square: every Tuesday and Saturday in the morning (10-14) The town has plenty of discothèques and bars that the young ones can attend.
Tarragona is at 80 km where you can enjoy the city or the surrounding area with sandy and sunny beaches, or Port-Adventure Universal Studios.
Girona and Costa Brava situated around 140 km from the house. We are willing to pass on our tips regarding these cities if you should be interested.
